Large quantities of unlicensed medications have been seized by Department of Health officials throughout a search of a house in Glengormley.

A male was talked to by department officers about illegally importing and consequently supplying unlicensed impotence medicines by means of the internet.

The search was brought out by the department's Medicines Regulatory Group.

Its senior enforcement office, Peter Moore, said: "It is important that we get the message throughout that unlicensed medicines can be harmful.
"These types of items being sold, usually online, have undergone no quality control and there can be no about their safety.
"You merely do not know what you are taking or the conditions these products were made in. More importantly, you do not understand the impact drugs like this may have on your health."
